The Cuban government is remaining totally silent about Hugo Chavez's condition after a third surgery to remove a growth from his hip area where a cancerous tumor was removed some months ago. The new lesion is believed to be cancerous as well. The total blackout of news on Chavez has much of Latin America on tenterhooks, because the succession of power in Venezuela is not all that clear and presidential elections are looming on the horizon. This is Chavez's fifth visit to Cuba for medical treatment since he was first operated on for a pelvic abscess, before returning to the OR a few days later to have a cancerous tumor removed from the same area.
