The Judiciary Council (CPJ), chaired by recently appointed Mariano German Mejia, has dismissed two of its judges for having committed serious offences in the course of their duties.
The judges are Adolfo Oscar Caraballo Merino from Higuey, and Altagracia Sanchez Molina from La Romana. The latter is accused of bribing a British company asking for a sum of US$6,000 to rule on a case in their favor.
The CPJ assured that as the highest body of all the judicial system they would continue to watch over all of their members to ensure that they exercised their duties within the strictest code of probity, honesty and morality.
