The National Drug Control Department (DNCD) announced yesterday Tuesday 28 February that a French citizen had been arrested with around four kilos of cocaine at the Las Americas International airport (AILA) before boarding a flight to Paris on Monday 27 February.
They also announced that a British citizen of Dominican descent, Rosa Olivia Rodriguez, was arrested at Punta Cana airport in possession of at least 15lbs of marijuana where she was waiting to catch a flight to Antigua and Barbuda.
DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said that both were under arrest and the French and British authorities were being informed.
The investigators were trying to establish whether they had operated alone or had been contracted as mules.
