The Dominican Republic Shipping Association (ANRD) and the Association of Industrial Enterprises of Haina and the South (AEIHaina) have asked National District Mayor Robert Salcedo and the City Council to reject a resolution aimed at changing freight shipping routes and hours between the Municipalities of Greater Santo Domingo and specifically the Malecon seafront boulevard. Teddy Heinsen and Flavio Rodriguez, the presidents of the associations said that they were not opposed to regulation but that it must not affect the industrialists and their logistics, because this could affect the nation's economy.
