I couldn't find any recent intel on the matter so I'm asking is there any differences like the time it takes to get out of the airport flying into SDQ vs. POP due to extra potential bag searches etc?

Or will TSA just be "laughing at all the rubbers in my luggage" to quote Wale (DC rapper pronounced WAALAY).

I can't speak for those two airports but flying into STI with a plane full of locals I was out of the airport within 15 minutes of touching the ground. I dunno but locals coming from the states want to sneak back goods without paying taxes and a tourist is pure like the virgin Mary?

In reference to rubbers, I brought a mother load of them donated by AIDS groups and such from the states and no questions were asked.

i haven't flown into SDQ, but i can tell you that for me, sti has always been faster than pop for getting in.

but pop has always been faster getting through when leaving.

seems like my line is always an hour long to leave sti.

Customs had always been a breeze at SDQ except this last trip. TNT40 went through without a problem, I'm right behind him and my bags get searched. Funny just like the line by Wale they did laugh, well the female inspected didn't, she gave me the look of disgust.:rofl:

LOL.

Last trip to pop I got pulled over before the exit. Chic just touched my bag then proceeded to tell me it was her birthday.. I said ok, happy birthday. Still not sure what she expected. Otherwise I have never been stopped, POP, STI or SDQ

Thanks fellas.

I had to wonder because we've become spoiled a little arriving at POP, getting our bags to the taxi, checking in and chilln with a cold beer all within an hour sometimes.

the locals seem to be the only one to get their bags searched when I go. POP is a breeze, in STI they x-ray your bag, so if you have anything in the bag they will see it unless you unpack it and have a reason for bringing it into the country.

I flew into SDQ last year and had no problems. The line was longer and more time consuming waiting to get your tourist card but that might have been due to the fact that another plane had just landed and passengers from that flight were also in line. Once that was done, I was outside in the reception area within a few minutes.

You are right about the quickness of getting out of POP after arriving. But it is a small airport and with long intervals between arriving flights, the lines move fast. I once checked my watch to see the time it took from stepping off the plane, walking into the terminal, waiting in line for the tourist card, getting through immigration and out to the taxi. Made it in 20 minutes!

Actually, the distance to Boca from SDQ looks similiar to the distance from POP to Sosua. You may yet get that first beer within an hour of landing!

My flight arrives before 11:30am. I'll probably get a quick tour and have that first beer before I can check in at that time. I'm so amped for this trip I can hardly stand myself let alone work the rest of this week.

It means... I want to have a good time... and you'll do.
This is also used by cockteasers and rapo players, but they are rare.

I arrived in SDQ on the 5th. No problems and no different than normal. I'd say the wait at both places, POP and SDQ) is about the same. I think getting to Boca Chica from the airport is quicker than going to Sosua from POP as Boca is right there. Getting to Santo Domingo is another thing and a much longer trip than the other two.
