According to the Seismological Institute there have been two earthquakes in the last couple of days, one near Monte Cristi and the other in La Romana.
The tremor in La Romana occurred at 6:52pm in the evening, with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale some 7 kilometers from La Romana and was felt in various parts of the region. However there were no reports of any damage or injury.
The quake in Monte Cristi was at 5:31am of Tuesday, 6 March and registered 3.6 on the Richter scale with its epicenter in the Atlantic Ocean.
