President Leonel Fernandez inaugurated a new secondary school, Cacique Francisco, in Villa Sonador in Monsenor Nouel (Bonao) province yesterday Tuesday, 13 March.
According to deputy Education Minister Gisell Feliz, the construction of the high school cost nearly RD$48 million.
Father Miguel Jacques thanked the President for the construction of the school and asked him to build a church for the community, a request originally made four years ago.
Fernandez assured the priest that the church would be built before his term of office was over and that he would also arrange for transport for university students in the area so that they could attend the UASD in Bonao.
Bonao senator Felix Nova Paulino, governor Ignacio Garcia Ovalles, deputy Jose Antonio Fabian, National Library director Diomedes Nunez Polanco and other dignitaries attended the event, as reported in Listin Diario.
