Hoy reports that the Dominican police, Haitian police and the UASD security have joined forces to investigate the murder of Haitian Joel Geffrard, 48, who was murdered inside the state university campus in the afternoon of Monday March 12. Police spokesman General Maximo Baez Aybar said yesterday Tuesday March 13 that members of the Central Criminal Investigation Unit were analyzing three 9mm casings found at the scene.
Baez Aybar stated that the police were working with the Haitian authorities to establish what Geffrard was doing in the Dominican Republic.
He clarified that the National Police have no jurisdiction inside the university campus as it is an autonomous organization, nevertheless, that they were working together with their security department.
