A prosecutor from the judicial district of the province of Santiago de los Caballeros was arrested by police authorities yesterday Wednesday 14 March after being accused of sexual aggression against an underage girl in Esperanza. The defendant is magistrate Prudencio Francisco Vasquez, who worked in the department of special traffic jurisdiction in the town.
Diario Libre received the information from the District Attorney of the Judicial District of Santiago, Luisa Liranzo, who said that she was going to request three months preventive custody against the prosecutor. "We will continue to act against anyone that does anything against the law, no matter who they are," said the representative of the Justice Department in Santiago. The complaint against the prosecutor was filed by relatives of the minor whose name was not revealed by the office of the District Attorney in Santiago. District Attorney Liranzo said that the magistrate was fired by the Justice Department of the Judicial District of Santiago where he had been working for several years.
