Known for his merengue/hip hop mix tunes and popular in the DR and New York, the flashy, attention-seeking entertainer Omega (Antonio Peter de la Rosa) has done it again. This time, nevertheless, he got himself arrested and might not have it so easy. He is accused of aggression against a 15-year old girl, a Univision cameraman Cesar Serra, and a Dominican journalist Gelena Solano, during the Casandra Awards ceremony held at the National Theater on Tuesday 13 March. Omega denied all three accusations of aggression.
The journalists had reported that Omega arrived at the event in a limousine, and shortly after boarded a taxi to leave, which was reported by the journalists and the young woman who used her cell phone. Omega is said to have grabbed the cell phone and thrown three RD$2,000 bills at the young woman in payment.
