PLD presidential candidate Danilo Medina says he is ready for the debate with PRD candidate Hipolito Mejia where there will be time to discuss national problems and proposals for their solution. "In April we will have the opportunity of the debate. There we will talk of all the subjects of interest to the country, but he needs to be prepared when we debate corruption," said Medina.
He said Mejia needed to be ready to explain why several government officials had their visa to travel to the US revoked.
"He wants to go to the debate, but he does not have the moral authority to debate the topic of corruption with us," said Medina.
"He has shown he lacked the will to eliminate corruption when he had the authority to do so, and what he did was to lead the most corrupt government the country has had in all its history," said Medina while campaigning in Santiago yesterday, Sunday 18 March. On the campaign trail, Medina described his main rival, Hipolito Mejia, as a "desperate joker."
