Police officer caught smuggling cocaine into jail

A Victoria jail warder, identified as Severino Brazoban Guzman was arrested today, Monday 19 March at the jail for attempting to smuggle in 108.6 grams of cocaine hidden in his underwear and 198.6 grams of marijuana into the jail in his boots. Drug Control Department (DNCD) agents at the jail arrested the officer, who is suspected of complicity with drug traffickers who used him to sell the drugs to inmates. DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said that the agent, who was removed from the service, was caught because the DNCD had a lead to follow his trail. He said the arrest was made during a surprise inspection.
