Judge Alejandro Vargas has ordered the release from custody of entertainment star Antonio Peter de la Rosa (Omega) after his initial accusers did not go on to press charges. He had been held at the Palacio de la Justicia public prosecution jail following complaints by Univision cameraman Cesar Sierra and Dominican journalist Yelena Solano, and a minor, of aggression during the evening of the Casandra Awards. Upon being released he told the press: "Nothing that they were saying happened, it was only a small incident with my companions."
His accusers have withdrawn their complaints. Omega's lawyer Freddy Mateo Calderon said that the case had been killed by the judiciary, as reported in the Listin Diario.
