The director of the Transport Reorganization Office (OPRET), engineer Diandino Pena, during an interview on the government-sponsored TV series "Rindiendo Cuentas al Pueblo Dominicano" stated that the feasibility study for the passenger and freight train between Santo Domingo and the Cibao had been completed.
Pena said that the study had been carried out by a French company with more than 100 years of experience and they would be arriving here within the next few days to present the results and hold meetings with the possible multilateral bank financier.
He said that in the first phase the train would start in Los Alcarrizos and would have stations in Villa Altagracia, Piedra Blanca, Bonao, La Vega and Santiago, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
