Propane gas comes to you

Propagas has announced the start of a propane gas delivery program for impoverished rural households. The Propagas Group and their Propagas Foundation announced the corporate social responsibility program that sends a gas truck to remote areas of the country to deliver propane to discourage people from buying charcoal or cutting trees. The program was inaugurated with deliveries in the Parque Nacional Armando Bermudez, La Cienaga, Manabao in La Vega, on the route to Pico Duarte, the highest peak in the Caribbean. Other communities in the area that will benefit are Mata de Limon, Angostura, Los Dajaos, Pedregal, La Lomita and Arraijan. The program provides access to subsidized supplies of propane in a mobile eco-friendly gas station. Fundacion Propagas president Rosa M. Bonetti de Santana said that because of the high cost, this is not a commercial operation, but a contribution to the better management of natural resources. The mobile station makes it easy to fill gas tanks of 15 pounds and less for use in stoves that were donated by Fundacion Propagas in the communities.
