If you were to turn to the right coming from Rocky's walked to the end of the building and took a right in the driveway you'd be on the grounds of Hotel and Restaurant Orchidee.

In the Mid 2000's when I was first introduced to Orchidee they were known for their fine soups and huge variety of truly excellent handmade pizzas. There were so many options nd the food was so good and inexpensive that we ate dinner there 5 or 6 out of 9 nights!

It now has new owners and managers but it is still great value and the food is delicious. They still have wonderful soups and many varieties of pizza that are very light and tasty.

Located on the top floor of a short hotel building, essentially right behind Rocky's it can be challenging to get up 2 steep flights of stairs but it's well worth the effort. One night fairly early into the trip 6 of us climbed the "Stairway to Heaven' and ate at Orchidee. One of the guys loved the pumpkin soup there so much that he ate two bowls :p. Two of us had Mero fillet in a dill cream sauce, two others had chicken Cordon Bleu and the 5th shared a pizza with the two soup dude. We all raved about the food. The bill was very reasonable also. it's just those damn stairs that subliminally make me forget to return more often. :iconTU:

Orchidee restaurant comes Highly Recommended!

Not sure who you are referring to.

I knew the original owners and who I was introduced to some time ago as the new owner, and he was there.

He made a point of coming to our table, just to make contact. It was a nice touch and not obtrusive at all.

I'm not sure how far back you are talking about. Tilo has been running Orchidee restaurant for at least the last 4 years and prior to him it was Raquel and her german husband, Christian running it. Tilo was there in December, are you saying he is not there anymore?.

BTW, consistantly this place serves the best quality food for the money in Sosua, on a par with La Costera.
