At 5.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, 27 March, according to Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia, Jose David Figueroa Agosto, also known as Junior Capsula, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.
He was taken to the Federal Court in old San Juan from a New York federal jail escorted by heavily armed federal marshals under extreme secrecy and security.
He had been charged with having set up an empire and making the Dominican Republic his distribution centre for many kilos of cocaine and was formerly charged on 15 November 2010 by a Federal Grand Jury along with 16 accomplices.
