Minister of Agriculture Salvador Jimenez and the local representative of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Manuel Sanchez Hermosillo signed an agreement yesterday, Wednesday 28 March for a donation of RD$170 million by the US Department of Agriculture to improve the DR's quarantine capacity through the Food for Progress program.
The IICA will administer the donation that is aimed at improving the quality of Dominican produce.
US Ambassador Raul Yzaguire and Haitian Ambassador Fritz Cineas served as witnesses to the agreement.
