The members of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) visited the installations of the communications company Orange Dominicana yesterday, Wednesday 28 March, where they met with the main company executives and were shown the workings of the operations centers, monitoring and transmission of the election results. Eduardo Valcarcel, the vice-president of communications for Orange Dominicana, the largest supplier of the 3G cards that the JCE will use, said that the company has a monitoring center that works 24 hours a day and they have prepared a Support Plan in coordination with the Armed Forces. "Our network is totally redundant, not only at the national level but also international. Our network is composed of a microwave network and also a fiber optic network," he explained.

He reported that the indicators allow them to detect when there are incidents in order to resolve them in the shortest possible time. Valcarcel and technicians from Orange were speaking during a tour of the company's office tower in Santo Domingo by members of the Plenary of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, Rosario Graciano, Eddy Olivares, Cesar Feliz Feliz and Jose Angel Aquino. The president of Orange Dominicana, Jean Michel Garrouteigt and other executives accompanied the group from the JCE and showed them the equipment installed in the Operations Center. Orange will provide 769 of the 1,270 3G cards that will be used for mobile telephone service and data transmission. Garrouteigt guaranteed the quality and efficiency of their service during the next elections on next 20 May.
