The Central Electoral Board (JCE) voting list contains 6,504,943 voters for the 20 May 2012 presidential election, which is being contested by six presidential candidates. The candidates are: Hipolito Mejia, Danilo Medina, Guillermo Moreno, Max Puig, Eduardo Estrella and Julian Serulle. In the Dominican Republic, 6,176,338 voters are registered to vote, and another 328,605 are located in Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Panama, Venezuela, Italy, Netherlands Antilles, Spain and the United States, as reported in El Caribe.
