The National Meteorological Office reported that there will be a decrease in rainfall as of today, Thursday, 29 March, but temperatures are expected to remain cooler than normal over much of the country. However, Onamet is forecasting light showers over the north, northeast, southeast and the Central Mountains. They also warned of possible flooding in Monsignor Nouel (Bonao) and La Vega provinces. Warnings are in effect for the Atlantic Coast and Samana Bay for small craft to stay close to shore due to winds and unusual wave action. Today's forecast is for cloudy skies and some rains with wind gusts in the provinces of Santiago Rodriguez, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Samana, Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris), Espaillat (Moca), Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), La Vega, Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia (Higuey), San Cristobal, Peravia (Bani), San Jose de Ocoa and San Juan de la Maguana.
