South Africa's currency gained as much as 0.3 percent and traded 0.2 percent stronger at 7.7016 per dollar as of 8:22 am in Johannesburg, paring its loss this week to 0.2 percent. The euro gained as much as 0.5 percent versus the dollar to 1.3366.
