View Full Version : COE unveil Easter Week safety plans

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) announced their "Holy Week Operational Plan: For your security and values 2012" yesterday, Monday, 2 April and it is a massive effort. According to COE director General Juan Manuel Mendez, some 35,000 people will be mobilized in an attempt to keep accidents down. There are three phases to the plan: Phase 1 is information and public awareness; Phase 2 is the execution of the Operational Plan and Phase 3 is the evaluation process which begins when Easter Week is over.

According to El Nuevo Diario, there will be 2,512 aid stations, 123 ambulances, 75 "bicycle-ambulances" and three air units provided by the Armed Forces. There will also be three mobile hospitals and nine regional command and control centers. The 35,000 people will include personnel from Civil Defense, the Armed Forces, the National Police and other rescue agencies.
