Ambassadors from five countries, Bolivia, Jamaica, Peru, Taiwan and the Ukraine presented their credentials to President Leonel Fernandez at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, 4 April. The new ambassadors met with the President for between 5 to 15 minutes at the Hall of Ambassadors. Also attending were Vice President Rafael Alburquerque and Minister of Foreign Relations Carlos Morales Troncoso, among others.
The new ambassadors are:
Bolivia: economist Palamiro Leon Soria Caucedo.
Taiwan: Ping-Fu Hou, formerly ambassador in Panama
Peru: lawyer Enrique Palacios Reyes
Jamaica: Paul Robotham
Ukraine: Tatiana Saienko Touray. She is also ambassador in Cuba.
