The Center for Export and Investment (CEI-RD) has announced US$205 million in organic exports in 2011. Exports in 2010 totaled US$200 million.

Of total exports, cacao exports represent about half.

CEI-RD reported that organic exports had risen from US$74 million in 2006 to US$200 million in 2010, of which organic cacao was 50%.

CEI-RD says that 19 farm products accounted for more than US$100 million in exports in 2011. They include organic bananas with US$85 million, avocados with US$9.7 million, bell peppers with US$1.9 million, followed by fresh pineapple, mangos, limes, tomatoes, cucumbers, oranges, grapefruit and aloe vera.
