The Police report the finding of the body suspect to be of Spanish businessman Antonio Crespo Pando, who had been missing for a week in Bavaro. The body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in bushes in Pileta Llana, behind the Hoyo de Fruisa slum area in Bavaro. Earlier, 39-year old Spaniard Maria Isabel Fernandez Gonzalez confessed to the murder in complicity with Dominicans Oswaldy Bienvenido Molina Taveras, 26, and Johnson Reyes Pena, 29. Both are under arrest.
The body had been concealed in a plastic bag and the victim had a nylon rope around his neck. The body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Sciences for the legal autopsy.
When admitting her role, Fernandez said it was a contract killing by an unnamed Spaniard who offered her RD$10 million to murder Crespo Pando. She said she received an advance payment of RD$40,000.
