The Weather Department (ONAMET) is warning residents of Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) and La Vega (Jarabacoa and Constanza) provinces of heavy rains that could lead to flooding. A yellow alert has been issued for San Cristobal (Villa Altagracia) and Monte Plata, while a green alert of continuing rains that could bring flooding is in force for Santiago, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Duarte, Puerto Plata, Samana and Hermanas Mirabal provinces in the north and northeast.
