The management of channel 55, a local TV station in Santiago has taken Diario 55 off the air, the show produced and hosted by Marcos Martinez. Last month the reporter announced on the show that he had information concerning the First Lady's alleged bank account in Denmark.
The owner of channel 55 confirmed that the program had been taken off the air, as Martinez was often absent with no just cause.
He stated that due to Martinez' absences the management had to transmit previously recorded material, against their mission which was to provide live television.
At the same time he dismissed claims that he had been under pressure from people and organizations linked to the government to take the program off the air.
