A Romanian citizen, Theodor Doru, has been arrested by Interpol in Puerto Plata, where he was out on bail for allegedly having swindled a fellow Romanian. He was being sought by his country's authorities for stealing money from the European Union when he was president of Teofarm SA, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison.
The police said that Doru would be deported as soon as the legal work was completed by the Immigration Department.
