Due to the fact that many experts are predicting some very "tight" voting on 20 May, or an election whose results will be separated by a very narrow margin, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has taken every precaution to ensure that no political party or presidential candidate can allege electoral fraud, says president of the board, Roberto Rosario.

Rosario said that he does not care if there are some "tantrums" despite the fact that he has said on several occasions that there are sectors that want to sully the prestige of the JCE in order to refuse to recognize the election results.

In an exclusive interview with Diario Libre, the official stressed that the JCE is implementing all the necessary measures to prevent this from happening. "We are doing everything different from what the IFE (the Federal Electoral Institute) in Mexico did. We are applying technology in order for the bulletins to go out simultaneously. The information flows immediately so that nobody has the excuse to say that the JCE has discretion in sending out the results. In other words, it is to say that it is divesting itself of this problem," he said.

Rosario recalled that the big mistake by the IFE in 2006, which caused a crisis in Mexico, was to administer the election results in order to please the then candidate of the opposition party Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. He stressed that the fact that the IFE "held up the bulletins" motivated the opposition to generate a campaign that questioned the election results.
