The Second Penal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice yesterday, Monday, 16 April ordered the extradition to the United States of Oscar Ezequiel Rodriguez Cruz, the president of the political movement in support of PRD candidate Hipolito Mejia, "Renacer con Papa". Rodriguez Cruz will be tried for drug trafficking in a court in Massachusetts. The court, presided by magistrate Miriam German Brito and composed of Alejandro Moscoso Segarra, Frank Soto, Esther Agelan Casasnova and Hiroito Reyes ordered the provisional seizure of assets belonging to Rodriguez Cruz. These assets include apartments, residences and vehicles that the Justice Department has identified as being linked to the crime for which the defendant is under indictment.
