The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has lowered the alert levels for flooding and instructed the rescue agencies and Civil Defense to carry out preventive evacuations in case it is necessary in Santiago, the only province still on red alert. The COE placed special emphasis on the areas affected by the Yaque River below the Tavera Dam, since the authorities were releasing water from the dam. The COE bulletin reports that 490 people have been displaced due to the rains. They are staying with friends and family after 119 houses were flooded as a result of the heavy rains affecting the country since Easter Week. The COE said that in Duarte province the communities of Los Contreras, Los Peinados, Juana Rodriguez and the Alto de Campos were flooded by the waters of the Yuna River. In La Vega the barrio of Inco was also under water when the lagoon of the same name burst its banks.

At present time COE has Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris, especially the Lower Yuna Basin), La Vega, Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) and Monsignor Nouel (Bonao) on yellow alert. The provinces of Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua), Espaillat (Moca), Puerto Plata Montecristi, San Cristobal (especially the area around Villa Altagracia) and Valverde (Mao) were placed on green alert. Small craft warnings are in place along the Atlantic Coast from Cabo Engano in the east to Manzanillo in the northwest. In Santiago, the authorities returned the 69 inmates to the Rafey Penitentiary for Women (now called the Rafey Women's Center for Correction and Rehabilitation). The women had been taken to the Palace of Justice because of the rising waters of the Yaque River.
