The beer market in the Dominican Republic consists of 21 different brands, of which 10 are produced in the country. The recent purchase of the Dominican National Brewery (Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana-CND) by Anheuser-Busch InBev, through their Dominican subsidiary AmBev Dominicana, has brought the beer market into the public eye. A billion dollars will do that.
There are four breweries in the Dominican Republic: CND, Bohemia, AmBev and Cerveceria Vegana. In addition to the ten brands that are brewed and bottled here, Listin Diario mentions the strong presence of Mexican beer Corona, as well as Miller, Stella Artois, Coors, Heineken, Quilmes, Budweiser and Becks.
