The Dominican Republic is hosting the NORCECA Girls' Youth Continental Championship, from 9-17 June in La Romana.
The NORCECA Girls Youth Continental Championship U-18 is a sports competition for national volleyball teams, currently held biannually and organized by the NORCECA, the North America, Central America and Caribbean volleyball federation. The competition is played by women under 18. The winners in the 2010 event were the US, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In 2002 and 2006 the DR won silver, and bronze in 2000 and 2008, but it has never won a golf medal in the event.
