Anyone with info on closest Villa to Sosua or even a good hotel that has apartment style accomodations such as kitchens and livingrooms. Would rather a villa but if they are far from the "action" id take a hotel.

I prefer Sosua Suites. They are one bedroom condo's about 1 minute from the center of the action.

I'm not positive, but I believe that Lions Pride are the closest villa's. They are down my D'Pierro's and Passions.

Does Sosua Suites work like New Garden? Where there is an all night security guard who checks and holds the Chica's cedula? Thanks

Sosua Suites (via Rocky's) in the heart of the actions. 1 BR condo, with a night watchman.

Lions Pride 2 lux villas just behind Piero/Passions. One 2BR house/pool, One 4 BR house/pool. Gated with nightly armed security.

Condos Dominicano Studio/1BR/2BR units. Very cost effective, night security, laid back convenient setting, A/C is not available in all units.

The Palms via DonQuixote on this board. A little off the strip, but a great property and not that far of a walk or moto.

Also can check out www.sosuarentalservice.com

Should be enough for you to chew on.
Different locales and pricepoints.

Sosua Suites has a night watchman, but he does not check or hold cedulas's. That's up to you to check them.

Sousa Suites is a nice joint. The security is there overnight and stays on point. As soon as you hit the entrance he's there checking ID's of the chicas, and I come in late a lot from After One. I usually throw him a propina, because I feel he looks out for the guest. As far as the apartment goes pretty smooth layout furniture seem to be pretty updated. I don't know about the other apartments though plus close to the action of course. Also daily maid service which is cool. My apartment had a keyed safe but other apartments have digital safes as I did a brief tour. This is just my 2 cents.

I prefer Residence D'Piero or some call it Hotel D'Piero which is on Martinez the street just before Passions on PC and off PC just 100 meters on a quiet cul-de-sac is Pieros. They have one and two bedrooom apartments. Google Hotel Piero Sosua and you can see it.

They do have security 24/7 and checking Cedulas/ID's is done by the security gurad and returned from the office manager in the morning but it is you vouch for the girl she doesn't have to leave on with them since many guests are regular long time return guests who see many of the same girls so no reason to see ID from them ect.

Looks of Great choices in Villas up the hill too at Casa Linda and up in that area and DonQ's the Palms has some nice apartments too.

there's also the mary rose and club residencial, tho I think the latter is really better for stays of a month or longer (their daily/weekly rates are a little high, but their monthly rates are pretty good)

How far is the Mary rose from classicos and what area is it located

It's on Alejo Martinez, way east almost to the Playa Chiquita casino, and easily a 20 minute walk in good weather in the daytime. Definitely want a moto or car in the night and foul weather.

It is however a great place to stay, very new and modern, quiet, relaxed and well supplied with wifi, nice flat screen TVs and new furnishings and appliances.

With a car or pasola it would be an excellent choice for accommodation. I know I enjoyed my times there very much.

Oh, it also has a very nice bar and pool with a Jacuzzi. It's not the place for rowdy parties but perfect for someone looking for peace and quiet. There's a colmado near by as well as bars and restaurants. Except for "nightlife" once you have you chica of the moment there is really no need to leave the area if you chose to stay put. :iconTU:

A little review of MaryRose Condos.....

I booked a trip to the DR at the last minute in the middle of Jan.,.....Rockys and the New Garden and everything in between was pretty much booked....Rick from Rockys offered me a room at MaryRose....

As you can see from the pics it is pretty nice...the condo has everything you need from a kitchenette, flat screen tv with cable and also has wifi internet...and your own key to get inside the complex

It is located about 500 feet east of the CoCo hotel...there are a number of motoconcho drivers outside the CoCo hotel that you an use for transportation if needed, because MaryRose is a good distance away from the center of action in Sosua, a good 15 minute walk.

The place also has a small pool and jacuzzi and a small bar area....

Rick, who owns Rockys, also lives there. Also the chap who owns the place is a friendly and personable, and also lives there.

But the place is a work in progress, I think I got the first available condo, the rest is under construction and hopefully it will be done soon, has a lot of great potential.

Also Rick is planing on having a restaurant there soon......

The price is $275 a week plus $25 for maid service....

I left after 1 day because of all the noise from the construction, Rick just happened to have a cancellation and I stayed at Rockys for the remainder of my trip....

MaryRose condos has a lot of potential when the construction is finished....I would stay there again.....just remember that it is a little out of the way for the guys who like to be in the center of things

Thanks LM, those pics are perfect!

In spoke with the owner in March and IIRC he said all of the construction was long done so no more noise. :corky: If Rick was full I would seriously consider either Mary Rose or DQ's condos at The Palms.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you all know that I am once again representing Mary Rose condos. The link is back on my website and if anyone wants to stay there, I can look after all the arrangements. Just PM me or email me from my site and I will look after everything else for you.

Remember, ALL ISOC members get free POP airport pick up AND drop off for any of our locations no matter how long you stay but this offer is only valid if booked through Rocky's. It is our way of saying THANK YOU for all the tremendous support Rocky's gets from the brotherhood of ISOC. (Yes Mikelodge, I'll even pick you up AND drop you off for free if you stay with us)

Take care,

Rick

Awesome to hear that these Mary Rose units offer much more than the regular Rockies Bar back rooms without security guard at night and extra charge for AC and NO Breakfast included in that rate.

Those Sosua Suites also not sure how much involvement Rockies bar has to do with them but I hope Mary Rose doesn't have the REPORTED BY MEMBERS (Documented) only having 13 inch old school TV's not even Flat screen. Well they do cost more to dispose of than to buy them.

Ok the rides included notch one check mark one. hmmm
AC included ??
Flat Screen??
Satellite TV decent package??
Breakfast (Full Hot and Complete with Meat, Eggs, Potatoes, Bread, Juice, Coffee ect) included??? NOT

Lodge want a McMuffin at least then he be a happy Lodger

The funny thing about all this chatter regarding tv's is when I stopped and thought about it, I know for a fact I didn't even turn one on my last trip and I'm hard pressed to remember it on my previous trips. One of the only times that comes to memory was a night I called it early and was hanging out with a favorita. We didn't make it past 30 or 45 minutes before the tv was just background noise.

It is definitely not on my checklist of "need to haves" when on vacation in the tropics.

Now a descent radio with Ipod or MP3 capability definitely puts a check in the positive column for me. I'm still lugging my personal one down each trip to make sure I've still got some tunes to play......while playing.

I sure as hell hope your not "bashing" Rick(dafishguy) for promoting his OWN business here on ISOC. This man is a paying advertiser and a active member. He has every right to promote and advertise his own business.

Personal shilling or promotion of your favorite locale...have at it, this has nothing to do with me... to each his own... but when folks attack my boy RICK, not gonna happen on my watch, this needs to stop or will be stopped.

Tread lightly my friends, and keep certain things out your mouths.

Proceed with your regularly scheduled programming.

I asked this question to a buddy of mine... Who the hell wants to watch TV on vacation? Ive had chicas turn on and watch Novella for all of 5min before I turn my Ipod on and drown out the sound. I dont watch TV at home much so not interested in watching it on Vacay.. Im happy with a fridge and AC. and clean sheets daily. :iconTU:

I know this question has been exasperated but since we are on the topic. Which Condo / Suites would be more suited for someone traveling alone like myself? In your opinions which give the best bang for the buck?

I stay at Villa chessa for the comfortability I have with Mario chessa and the location. Just looking to try Sosua suites, Trade winds or Mary rose (On a future trip) and see how it fits me.

As with all choices, there are plenty of opions out there on the matter. I'm sure you've read but all of the info is in other (very active) threads. I'm still tied into one place (probably need to broaden my horizons), but the location, customer service, etc. can't be beat. Nothing like walking out of home base and being on the strip after a couple of hundred feet walking.

My room at Mary Rose had 32"-36" HD, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Never turned it on. The only time I've ever watched tv in the DR was the NBA finals two years ago - on the big screen at Rocky's.

Does the place (that shall remain nameless) that you're comparing to Rocky's establishments have a 15' movie screen for big sporting events and movies?
Is it a regular meeting place for ISOC'ers and other like-minded folk?
Does it have the same reputation for great customer service that always goes above and beyond?
Does it support and contribute to the ISOC community?
Will they go out drinking with you and buy you drinks?
If Trey breaks something there with his noggin, will they expect him to pay for it? Or will they be more concerned with his well-being and drive him to the hospital to get stitches?
Does it have Benny, Marco or Bruno?
Piņa marmalade? The ribs? The Blue Cheeseburger?

If you want to keep throwing in plugs for your establishment of choice (I'm sorry, which place was that again?), have at it, but don't be talkin' smack about Rocky's. Not even in jest. :p

Guys,

First, please forgive me... my "Thank you" button is not working all the time. I just get kicked out of the thread when I try although I have noticed once in awhile it does work. I'll send Jimmy a PM in hopes he can get it fixed and then I can thank you all for your support and kind words.

Second, please leave Mikelodge alone. He likes his place, no problem. I know all my properties could use improvements and I and the other owners are working on them. (Just ask Bennie how much he likes his new 37" flatscreen TV in his room here at Rocky's). Baby steps when money allows.

Mike, A/C IS included at Rocky's (For $35 US a night) and it is included at ALL our condo locations and there is no way in hell you can beat Rocky's and Sosua Suites location. Sorry buddy, I know you like your spot (Which does not even advertise on ISOC) but to each his own. Let me run my business MY WAY and I'll be honored to still meet you and get to know you one day. Sound fair?

Thanks buddy and enjoy your spot. No really, I mean that.

And as for that other places "security"...I had a friend lose a laptop as a chica just walked out of the property with it, right by the security guard, unquestioned, as a matter of fact, he opened the door for her.

Shill away.

Mike, of course the condos offer more than a simple hotel room. They are all one bedroom full condos complete with kitchen and living room. Of course they do COST more but of course you knew that, right?

I would just like to clarify why we do not have a LIVE Dominican security Guard at Rocky's at night. First and foremost, Marco the old owner of Rocky's who started the business and STILL lives on site IS our night security guard and probably knows the Rocky's property better than anyone else on the planet. Sure, he is not there to open and close the security gate for you at night but we both are firm believers in that we cater to ADULTS. Those people who can look after themselves and have done their due diligence when it comes to picking up a girl for the night or short term. After all, don't most of you use a key to enter your home. That is how we want you to feel while staying at Rocky's... At home. If you have a problem at night with a girl or if you loose your keys to re-enter Rocky's, all you have to do is call Marco or phone the Rocky's number and he will get you out of trouble. He is my GO TO guy when our guests encounter problems at night. Besides, most Dominican security guards are unreliable to say the least. See next paragraph.

Also, no one have EVER lost a laptop at Rocky's unlike Mikes favorite place. Why? Because you and only you can let the girl leave Rocky's once you are done. She can't drug you and take your keys because first, you can lock your keys in the electronic safe when you arrive back in the room and if she does happen to get your keys and drug you, well then there is the little matter of having to get past Marco and Bruno. If Marco happens to not notice her leaving with your possessions, (doubtful) Bruno sure as hell will. He will not let her leave the front of your room if you are not with her. Believe me, I have seen it firsthand. They usually shit themselves and go right back into the room. So you see Mike, your much loved security guard who lets chicas walk out with laptops under their arms is about as useful as tits on a boy.

Also, if by some miracle the girl does leave Rocky's at night with your possessions, we also have dedicated video surveillance in and around Rocky's. (Before you say anything Mike, no NOT in the rooms). I have made tremendous efforts to make Rocky's Hotel a clean, comfortable and above all else a SECURE place to vacation and have the time of your life with a lady guest.

Sorry for the triad guys, I'm just sticking up for my place and to let you know that I have been silent long enough while Mike throws shit around about my place. Mike, come on by when in town. I'd be pleased to spend an hour or so with you and SHOW you first hand all my properties and the improvements both I and the other owners have made.

I'm reminded of that classic movie, "It's a Wonderful Life", when the angel tells George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) that if you have friends then you are rich. As one who has been the beneficiary of your kindness and hospitality, I and most all the guys who belong to this board that have had the honor to meet you think of you not as a business owner and advertiser, but as a good friend. I have to beleive that you are the richest man in town!

Now knock off the cancer sticks!

Take care all and thank you for your support.

Rick

Very Nice... I am guessing Bruno is a dog perhaps. Nice TV's too

I totally understand your comfort and loyalty in staying at Villa Chessa but Rick also offers excellent service, will likely become a great friend like he has with so many here and the location of Sosua Suites/Rocky's is far more convenient...IMO :D
Yea Ive been reading, thats why I cant make my damn mind up. I wanted to check out Sosua suites last trip but never met up with Rick again.
Im the same, Tied into my spot (Villa Chessa) Ill have to do a day and just check out different locations and see for myself.

I was deprived of water and food by my kidnappers and when I was dropped off and left for dead in a rural farming area it was very difficult to get back to my hotel room in Boca Chica .. OH I mean Sosua. :corky:

Seriously though mind wasn't totally lost only extremely drunk and thinking stupid shit was funny when it really was just stupid shit. Had some skin cancer cut out and the booze with the meds were not the best plan.

Oh without a doubt. I met Rick and talked for all of 2 minutes but I could tell he was a good guy. You can read about his hospitality on the board but shaking his hand you realize he is a mans man.
Rick Will be seeing me again soon.

Thanks, yah lots of different lodging options ... apples, oranges, tangerines, pears, maybe even a few prunes (maybe Sosua Bay ) :corky: but wherever a person stays one thing is certain....

When most people say the owner is a good guy and takes care of his guests
(which is the case at a few hotels)
Then that counts for one Hell of a Lot.

im going to sosua on august 29. me and 3 friends got a villa in panorama village. its about a 5 minute drive from downtown sosua. total cost came to 1000$ for the week. split 4 ways and its 250$ per person for the week. the villa owner was against us bringing chicas back to the villa but once we told him we come to sosua often, he said he had room to wiggle. lol. just dont destroy the place.

I don't know if you have been to sosua before or not, but panorama village is far more than a 5 minute drive up from downtown sosua. Its a hike, and then its around the way. If you don't trust me, ask others, RobertZipCode (its the place we went with MikeG) its a haul and at night your not gonna want to come back down the mountain to bring your chica back and there are NO taxis or motos up that way.....

just my opinion... enjoy.

they have some sweet homes up there though

It's a solid 20 minutes from the colmado beside Rocky's on a moto and almost 15 in a jeepeta. I did it going to dinner at a friends with a bag of jumbos in one hand an a bag of Ice in the other. The ice was 1/3 melted by the time I got there and it was about 6pm. Coming back about 10pm was a little faster but not as "interesting". Some Million $$$$ or more homes up there and great, incredible million $$$ views.

Ah let him try it is possible :corky: That is if you have a Hummer and hit every dog or cat in your way and don't even stop to look and ride the horn the whole way. Get a Dominican driver so if you hit a Dominican they don't shoot you.

Seriously there are speed bumps, pot holes, animals, all of course where you don't expect them on all the roads up in the hills.

Best to go slow and open your window and MOO real loud at the Cows it is much less stressful.

lets not be dicks about it... if i only took the word of ppl who visit places and didnt do any research to tally the odds i would be a fool. And after careful research and questions i have decided to stay at Rockys as soon as i hear back from DAFISHGUY... smack in the middle of the chicas. Good food from what i hear, a bit cheaper, and no need to worry about having a blown tire. not that we are there we are staying there.... we might reconsider the car. not sure. still doing research into that.

Great choice with Rick!!:iconTU:

If you stay in town, and don't plan on going to other towns. And since it's your first trip, I don't give a fuck what you plan, your not gonna leave Sosua!!!! Don't bother with the car. Save your money!
