The frontal system affecting the country will continue to bring rain, thunderstorms and wind throughout the day, according to Weather Department (Onamet).
Most rain is forecast to fall in the north coast, the Cibao valley, and the border and northeastern regions.
Alerts have been increased for the provinces of Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago Rodriguez, Puerto Plata, Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris, especially the lower Yuna river basin), Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua) and La Vega. Alerts are still in place in Montecristi, Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Espaillat (Moca), Dajabon, Valverde (Mao) and Monsenor Nouel (Bonao).
Onamet say that the rains should start to decrease on Friday and that temperatures will remain low.
