"Oh !!! You're an English French Canadian!"

PS: It's Rocky's, not Rockies. The Rockies are a mountain range through North America.
Rocky's is a piddly fart bar/rest/hotel in downtown metropolitan Sosua.

Great find! Is it in walking distance to the beach and/or disco? They show a 10 minute walk to the beach, and that would be close to accurate, at a good clip, but not to the main Sosua Bay Beach.
That would take approx. 25 minutes.
Motoconchos would run you 20 pesos during the daytime and 30 at night, so that would be the way to go, besides, it would be a lot more secure.

That part that says, "SINGLE OCCUPANCY $40.00", leads me to believe it is.

Then the prices are totally out of line.
The rooms there, if freshly renovated and fully functional, that is to say with 24 hour power/hot water/daily maid service/good security, would be worth $25 US and $30 US with AC in high season, and $5 less in low.
If they were in the center of town, they could be worth 5 bucks more.

We took a serious look at this building, to accommodate Rocky's overflow.
The rooms are quite small (smaller than Rocky's) but ok.
The prices above, are what we would have aspired to receive per night.
Unless they have some "gadget", like being full blown whorehouse, a la Palace or Blackbeards, it's not going to fly, and will soon join my prediction list with Velvet Glove and Seacrets, for not lasting too long.

We might be walking on this ice with this conversation, as cultural observations might be misconstrued as a form of racism, in that so very politically correct world you guys live in.
That being said, I have to agree that French Canadians have more of a European flair, that the culturally English ones, who lean more to a combo of American and British.

I really hate these run around internet prices. I have seen a few other sites with pricing like this and when contacted i could never get a straight price. [/quote]Burns my ass too.
If one needs to be sneaky and deceitful about pricing, it's because it's overpriced.

During my 1st trip to Sosua last Nov., I dropped this chica off at Hotel Fantasma at around 7 am. She had to get back to her girlfriend is what she told me. Otherwise, I was ready for breakfast and a day at the bch with her. I saw her in Latina Joes this trip, 1 wk ago, but was with a chica already, and told her I will keep my eyes open for the next night, but the next night met that gorgeous blondie I posted on my other thread, " I landed safe and sound".

It may well be overpriced, that's their decision. If so, they will fail. But I cannot see anything sneaky and deceitful about their pricing. It is totally 100% clear and honest to anybody who can read words of more than one syllable:

PRICES PER PERSON PER NIGHT

ROOM WITH FAN $25.00
ROOM WITH AIR CONDITIONING $30.00
SINGLE OCCUPANCY $40.00

It is the normal way of pricing holiday hotel rooms and package holidays all over the world to UK and European customers (I wouldn't know about the US market). Many times have I looked at incredibly "cheap" package holidays in DR AIs which would cost me little more than my return airfare (so I could carry out my mission in cabanas and still save money) only to find that, as is standard, the rooms are priced assuming double occupancy. I don't like it, but I don't call it "sneaky and deceitful".

It is a standard policy for all inclusive hotels, which this is not.
What I have always found deceitful with Sans Soucy hotel in Cabarete, is that either they would not write the part about it being PP on their signs, or write it so small you couldn't see it.
It's like a used car salesman trick.
Get them in, then pressure sell them.
As they are not observing the standard policy of posting the prices per room, I find it sneaky & deceiptful, but that is just my opinion.
I am not trying to impose that opinion on anyone, simply stating how I feel.

They quoted me a price of $50 all inclusive of meals and local drinks. They do allow overnight guests, but if they eat or drink, it is another $50 for them. They did say that the bar is open from 11AM to 5AM. For you partyers, that might be a good deal.

I came here to find out if anyone knew anything about them since the changeover.

They just changed the name back to it's original name.
The Coco hotel name is close to 15 years old.
Maybe they are hoping to pick up some biz from the name.

It seems a bit pricey, since it's not near the action, and the rooms don't have a/c.

They said that they don't charge for chicas to spend the night. But, apparently, he is now saying that a single person would be $75 per night. For that kind of money, I could buy food and liquor to feed and water a half dozen chicas every day at a condo. Here are the emails in succession.
