The Gallup-Hoy newspaper poll carried out between 14-18 April face-to-face with 1,500 potential voters reveals that voters believe the three main problems currently affecting the Dominican Republic are: crime and safety (54.4%), unemployment (52%), inflation and the cost of living (49.5%), blackouts (38.7%), drug trafficking and consumption (18.1%), education (17.2%), and government corruption (13.7%). When asked which were the three most urgent priorities for the next government, voters said unemployment (54.5%), inflation and cost of living (50.1%) and crime and safety (48.7%).
