John McCarthy, Special Envoy from the Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard, will be in Santo Domingo from 2-6 May to talk about business, trade and educational opportunities. McCarthy is a former ambassador of Australia to the United States, Mexico, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Holy See and former High Commissioner to India.
He will be accompanied by Australian Latin American expert Karina Menday and Ambassador Katrina Cooper. Several meetings have been arranged for his stay.
