The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has maintained yellow alerts in place for 16 provinces due to the continued threat of flooding and landslides as a result of the heavy rainfall over much of the country. The rains are being caused by a low-pressure trough located over Cuba. Several communities in the Lower Yuna Basin have been cut off by the waters of the Yuna River in Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris) province. These include, according to El Nuevo Diario, Los Peinados, Los Contreras, Juan Rodriguez Arriba and Loma Colorada. A landslide was reported on the road that goes to Los Platanitos from Arenoso. The COE has also issued green alerts for San Jose de Ocoa, San Cristobal, Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), La Vega, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Montecristi, Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua), Dajabon, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macoris, El Seibo, Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Valverde (Mao) and Espaillat (Moca).
