The country's first all-women 13 strong classical music group will perform on Saturday, 5 May at the Carlos Piantini Hall of the National Theater in Santo Domingo. The group, which was inspired by the famous Camerata Romeu, is directed by its founder, Maestro Caonex Peguero. The concert soloists are flautist Laura Canelo Cohen, a recent graduate of Columbus State University, and soprano Ana Martinez Fiallo, soloist of the National Choir. The concert will also feature Maria Ligia Grullon, together with Teatro-Estudio de la 37, with a dance performance of Un Amen de Mariposas, to the music Quisqueyas by Mercedes Sagredo, Perez Oviedo and Rafael Hernandez. Each piece will be dedicated to the memory of domestic violence victims. The Camerata is sponsored by Fundacion Filarmonia.
