Taiwan lawnmowers for baseball

Taiwanese ambassador to the DR Eduardo Cheng has donated baseball and table tennis equipment to SEDFIR on behalf of his country, as well as four lawnmowers that will be used to cut the grass at several baseball facilities. Sports Minister Felipe Payano accepted the donations on behalf of the Dominican public. Payano says that this donation is part of a bilateral agreement signed with Taiwan in 2006, and whose benefits are beginning to be seen now. An agreement signed last October guarantees the continued cooperation between the two nations in the area of sports. Next October the Taiwanese national baseball team will come to the DR to play the Dominican national baseball team. As part of the agreement Dominican athletes will have the opportunity to go to Taiwan for training. There will also be exchanges for sports trainers and the opportunity for scholarships in physical education studies.
