Forensic specialists worry about crime scenes

The lack of money for forensic use is a worry for the specialists of the National Institute for Forensic Science (Inacif), since they cannot perform DNA tests because of this lack of funding. Other worries for the specialists is the handling of crime scenes, which often results in mishandled evidence or even altered evidence, according to a report in Hoy. Inacif director Dr. Francisco Manuel Gerdo told Hoy reporter Carmen Matos that there was a need to make the public aware of keeping the crime scenes intact. He said that the television series "CSI" has created "very high" expectations that are not possible to perform here.
