The Emergency Operations Center has issued new green alerts for five provinces due to the risk of floods and landslides caused by rains forecast by the National Meteorological Office (Onamet). Monte Plata, La Vega, Monsignor Nouel (Bonao), Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris) especially the lower Yuna Basin, and Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) were on the COE list. Onamet has added Santiago, Santiago Rodriguez and Valverde (Mao) to the alert list.
According to El Nuevo Diario, conditions are favorable for rains to continue over most of the national territory, especially in the north, northeast, southeast, and the Central Mountains. Because the ground is saturated in many places, the COE is warning of the risk of landslides and flooding. Small craft warnings for the entire coastline have also been issued.
