In a speech marking World Freedom of the Press day celebrated yesterday, Friday, May 4, President Leonel Fernandez declared that the Dominican Republic has a climate of absolute respect for the media and communication professionals.
Listin Diario reports that the day was established by the United Nations, and that Fernandez said that it was a time to reflect on the fundamentals of freedom and why communication media should defend them. He also paid homage to the country's journalists.
