The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) Roberto Rosario and the executive director of Citizen Participation (PC), Francisco Alvarez said yesterday, Thursday 3 May that they had reached an understanding and reconciled their differences.

Alvarez said that he would not oppose the JCE's work of cleaning the electoral observers list and confirmed that PC did not oppose the verification of the data relating to the list of observers, which they had provided. He said that both institutions had come to an agreement that PC specialists would go to the JCE to verify the evidence they had found, which had led to objections to some of the observers.

The differences arose during the week when the JCE Observation Commission published a document revealing that 188 of the observers recommended by PC had criminal records.

Rosario said that the meeting, which lasted more than two hours, had been a fruitful conversation and they had reestablished lines of communication between the two organizations.
