This is a small budget place on calle danae, right across from Mona Lisa. . . . . .moment of silence please. It is in walking distance of where most of the MPs were and hopefully will be.. . . .

Reports say that there are a bunch of street girls nearby these days, on independencia and on Bolivar as well. . . .

Nice find! I assume it's girl-friendly? Have you stayed there before?

BTW: I'm surprised that the website is only written in English.

It is an OK place. Nothing fancy. It is certainly girl friendly. Never ask ANY questions. In fact. . . . .

Back in february there was this one young chica that was always walking around in SHORT shorts and tight T shirts with no bra. She had the nicest tits ever in the DR. . . . . I thought she was some young girl on vacation with her family.

One day she was wearing a t shirt with no bra that was pretty darn transparent. She walked a few blocks to get something to eat, and came back complaining that LOTS of guys were getting fresh with her. They were saying nice tetas etc. . . .I just laughed.

I was sitting out front reading the paper and she came over and was flirting showing me the cartoons in her cell phone etc. She told me she was from Jarabacoa. . . . I was being polite and making small talk as she looked and acted very YOUNG.

I asked if she was in town with her family for vacation? She said no. She was staying in the hotel with a friend. . . . .she then went inside and brought out another cute young girl, who also looked young. . . . . .

I then found out from the owners of the Hotel that she had banged 3 or 4 guys that were staying in the hotel and went out at night to casinos to meet guys. . . . . . she would take them to cabanas or go back to their rooms. She was from jarabacoa and her and her friend were in town . . . . . . .to make money. . . . .

She said she was 17 which is too young as it is, but I was doubting the 17 years old as well. . . . . .

Now if I happen to run into her again a year or two from now. . . .I just may ask to see her cedula. . . . .LOL!

Wow thanks for the link. I know nothing of the Southern Coast. Now there is no reason not to explore there. Now if I can find a good hotel in Santiago......

In May I stayed at Maison Gautreaux, $32/night, queen-size, bathroom, AC, basic but adequate: http://maisongautreaux.net/

But I'm also looking for a next trip, and this one looks nice as well:

I don't know if they're chica-friendly, but the name of the bar downstairs 'cafetaria venus bar' sounds promising.

I sent an e-mail to this conde-parque place to check and i got this answer:
"overnight guests are no probl. as long as they are decent."
OK. I guess.

A joiner fee is the extra fee that some hotels charge you when you take a girl to spend the night with you.

In other words, was the hotel girl-friendly?

sjaak
07-15-2005, 08:19 PM
no, no fee. yes, completely chica-friendly, they took the cedula and all, but i was told 'only at night'.

This is a shot of, ehh, the room, pretty damn basic, and quite small, especially for american standards, but hey, it's a budget hotel.

The jaragua, intercontinental, melia and I guess napolitano are all within walking distance. Jaragua has freelancers. Napolitano I don't think so. Same for Melia and Intercontinental.

There are SWs on independencia at the corner of danae and if you walk down danae to independencia and make a left then quick right there is the Hotel senorial and they have freelancers at the bar most nights.

Also try the place behind la ceniza. . . .been hearing good things about it.

That’s right, I saw SW’s at the corner of Independencia with Danae most nights.

I didn’t know about the bar at the htl Senorial, will check it out next time, there must be so many places with action in SD…

Going back to the htl Residence, it was a very good recommendation, the htl is OK and it’s well located, very GF - they even told me I could take 2 or 3 girls at once with no problems.

The room was clean, and bug-wise I only saw one small roach during my whole stay, not a big issue.

Heck talk to jeremia the taxi guy at La residence and he will show you some hidden hotspots. Places like Casa Australia, The Penthouse, Alibi etc etc etc.

Plus he knows the car washes and places to meet semi pros and nice girls. . . . .

I got some at the La Isla gas station on the Malecon between Maximo Gomez and Alma Mater and on Avenida Independencia near Danae. Got them for $500 except for one that I overpaid at $1000.

Having a car really helps in the capital

Is there a place top park a rental car? I am going soon and I want to rent a car.

There is no parking lot but there are usually plenty of spots on the street plus with Mona Lisa being closed you can use their small parking lot. It is literally right across the street.

It is pretty safe. Mona Lisa may even still have a watchman all night etc. The neighborhood in Gazcue is pretty nice. Many middle class people with cars, all parked on the street.

I have parked rent a cars in much worse neighborhoods many times and never had a problem. I am not saying it can't happen, but the odds are against it.

I'm booked there Feb 8-11 before heading to Sosua for 9 days.

It says its within walking distance of Calle Conde and the Malecon. Can I walk there and back at night (using common sense) or should I take a taxi?

I assume there are taxis available on Conde at night? How much back to the hotel?

My first trip to SD, any info can help!

prtyr2
01-25-2006, 08:15 AM
I walk back from the Malecon at night all the time, but 2 guys I know were robbed on the road back from the Malecon. Of course in 8 years and sixty trips those are the only 2 guys I know of who were robbed in the area, so it is pretty safe.

Walking from El Conde, I have also done, but requires walking past a dark area in front of the cemetery which I would not recommend for a first time visitor.

There is a chance I may also be at Hotel residencia during that time so PM before you head down. The SD scene is starting improve little by little. When at Hotel Residencia ask for Jeremia to show you around by taxi. He doesn't accept commisions form the casas etc and knows where they all are.
