New manager at EdeEste

There is a new man at the helm of the largest power distribution company in the DR, EdeEste. Mario Pizarro was promoted from commercial director to general manager, replacing his boss, fellow Chilean Francisco Rafael Leiva. As reported in Listin Diario, he failed to comply with the entity's austerity policy and incurred in high costs for the inaugural of 24-hour circuits, substations or network rehabilitation works. Leiva was one of three foreign managers hired to manage power distribution companies as of September 2010. Leiva was let go for failing to reduce spending and achieve reasonable recovery levels of the distribution company.
