View Full Version : Penn Schoen gives Danilo Medina 5% lead

The Penn, Schoen & Berland presented its third national poll last night, Monday, 7 May. The poll gives the Danilo Medina-Margarita Cedeno ticket 51% and the Hipolito Mejia-Luis Abinader ticket 46%. In this poll 2% of respondents said they were still undecided and 2% did not answer.

The poll, taken from 18 to 22 April among 1,000 Dominicans eligible to vote was ordered by the SIN media group.

The poll says that in a second round Danilo would obtain 50% while Hipolito would get 45%.

Among women, the PLD formula has a 12% edge over the PRD (54% to 42%) but among men Hipolito and Abinader have a 3% advantage (50% to 47%).

Since May 2011, when Penn, Schoen & Berland published the first of three polls, Hipolito Mejia had a comfortable 12% lead over Danilo Medina (51% to 39%), an advantage that Mejia lost this January when the pollsters gave Medina 46%, a 7% increase, and they gave Mejia 44%, a 7% loss. For this last poll, Danilo went up 4% while Hipolito went up 2%.
