Even with the low-pressure trough distancing itself from the island, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) is maintaining its alerts for 19 provinces around the country. Yellow alerts remain in place for the provinces of La Vega, Monsignor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), Santiago and Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris, especially the Lower Yuna Basin). Meanwhile, the following provinces are under green alert: Valverde (Mao) San Juan de la Maguana, Santiago Rodriguez, Santo Domingo, National District, Monte Plata, Espaillat (Moca), La Altagracia (Higuey), Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua), La Romana, El Seibo, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor and Puerto Plata.

Because of flooding by the Yuna River, the communities of Los Peinados, Los Contreras, Juana Rodriguez Arriba and Juana Rodriguez Abajo and Loma Colorado are all cut off from the outside. The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) issued a bulletin yesterday afternoon, Monday, 7 May, which indicated that over the next 36 hours conditions would continue to improve due to the exit of the low-pressure trough. Onamet said however that the prevailing winds from the east/northeast combined with the local conditions would cause showers and possible thunder and lightning over the Septentrional and Central Mountains, the area around Neiba and Bahoruco and in the north and southeast of the country.
